New BIM/ Structural Analysis Software

We have recently made some major upgrades to our structural design software. Back in January we changed from our traditional hand calculation approach to the TEDDS electronic calculation system. For us it means greater efficiency and improved accuracy (although I’m sure there were no errors in our hand calcs anyway!). For our clients and co-professionals it means a nicely presented set of calculations.

An even greater step forward is the recent procurement of our new 3D structural analysis software – Tekla Structural Designer. This software allows full collaboration with other BIM platforms – Revit and Vector Works. It also provides us with the capability of designing even larger, more complex structures with a more economical end product. As with anything software based it still relies on the experience and excellent design abilities of our team members. Below are a few of our current projects currently in the design phase – an industrial warehouse, a piled slab base for an oval shaped cafe/ restaurant and a large contemporary concrete framed house with basement and swimming pool.
